I love how she talks about Downtown Manhattan. I didn't think I could fall any more in love with it until I hear her talk about it how I've always seen it.
That might sound strange but it makes perfect sense to me.
Lady Gaga took time out of her personal life to head down to DC during the Equality March to lend her support and perform for the thousands in attendance...
Instead of performing one of her own pieces (and attempting to sell albums at the worst time possible, like others might) she performed John Lennon's Imagine, and of course threw in her own verse or two and made it relevant to the event.
Needless to say it's pretty breathtaking.
I think John would approve (Yoko might sue, however...).
Enjoy.
Equality for all.

WORK WORK WORK!
This is so great. Gaga took time to recreate her hit song Poker Face for SNL this past weekend. She also personalized it for SNL and for NY and for her fans IN NY. So amazing. She actually sings!
Eat that Ashlee Simpson.
How cool is that sphere thing she's wearing at the top?!
Amazing.
She's also broken a few records on the Billboard charts this past month, as well as outselling most other artists this year with a debut album. She's also completed a world tour and still is on the tip of everyone's tongues! I really REALLY hope she's around for a long while.
I also hope that she doesn't have a Britney/Whitney like meltdown.
SO! World AIDS Day, December 1st, is fast approaching (I know right!?).
Sometime within the next 62 days I would like 100 of my friends to get tested.
Why do I want my friends and family to get tested?
In 2002 there were 5 MILLION people NEWLY infected with AIDS and an ADDITIONAL 3.1 MILLION people DIED of complications due to AIDS. 5 million is a HUGE number, and although the world is a big place you would be surprised to know how connected you could be to someone with the disease.
IF you don't believe me head on over to GMHC.org for the numbers.
In June of 2002 there were almost 80,000 known (100% known positive) people with AIDS in New York City ALONE! And those are only the cases they KNOW of. It's said that only about HALF the people who have AIDS in NY know it... which means that number was actually closer to 160,000 in New York alone.
SCARY SCARY SCARY! Those poor people!
But this is all the more reason to protect yourself when having sex... only half the people in this city who have AIDS know it!
GET TESTED!
In Maine in 2004 (AIDSaction.org) there were almost 1,400 people living with AIDS. In YORK COUNTY there were 155 people living with AIDS. Those are the reported cases remember... so the actual number could be around 300... in York County alone!
AIDS IS EVERYWHERE and can touch ANYONES lives. Please! Test yourself. Be open, be honest, get tested, and get help or help others.
Want to get tested in Maine? Look for FREE clinic hours here, here, here, or just Google it yourself. REMEMBER... 100 friends and family members by December 1st!!!!
Let me know if you get tested! I don't need to know the results, just let me know if you did it!
So I can't tell you how much I hate the new Shakira song She Wolf. It's awful. The sound mixing is horrific and the lyrics are HORRIBLE. I will admit, it's catchy... but it's really bad. And the video... this has to be one of the worst videos ever made. The dancing is so incredibly awkward!!
When I saw this copy cat music video I thought maybe this might have been a bit more awkward than the actual video, but then someone cleverly placed the two videos side by side and I realized, it's just as awkward, if not less so.
I was supposed to go to the MTV VMA's tonight, but due to shitty planning and a lack of communication between MTV and the event planners I was, with ticket mind you, turned away after waiting in a line for four hours.
SHIT-TAY!!
So, my friend and I snuck around and finally made our way into a restricted area where we were face to face and spoke with Taylor Swift and stood right by Jay-Z for his arrival.
It kind of made up for the fact that we didn't get to go inside.
Some of the people outside however WERE inside at one point and gave us the low down on Kan-yasshole's stage explosion.
I guess she was accepting her award for best POP video and he jumped up MID-SPEECH and stole the mic proclaiming Beyonce's video was the best of the year. He then handed the mic back to the 19 year old Taylor and left. Taylor being in shock gave a dancer the mic and walked off the stage RIGHT after MTV went to commercial.
Taylor then maybe three minutes later had to perform.
I had the pleasure of running into her after she jammed out on 6th Avenue (when she was done the audience - which ran 300 people thick all up and down every corner of the intersection - a few thousand people started chanting her name) and saw that her eyes were all red and she was a bit teary eyed. I had no idea then that Kanye was the reason.
But leave it to a true professional to save the day.
Later in the evening Beyonce won for best video and told the audience how excited she was to win when she was in Destiny's Child as a teen, and then she called out Taylor and let her finish her acceptance speech.
Beyonce - you are an amazing woman.
Taylor - I'm buying your album this week only to up your numbers and show Kanye how little he truly is.
Kanye - you were one of my favorite artists. I now have a strong unfavorable taste in my mouth for you. Lame lame lame.
Here's a video of Kanye being an a-hole, followed by one of Beyonce being awesome, followed by a funny Obama mash-up.

This recent online article really brings to light how much of our tax payer money goes to waste at the capitol. Why the hell is it a law that you "can not start or stop your car suddenly in front of a McDonald's" in AK?
I found this little gem on CraigsList.com's Missed Connections section. So amazing. So funny.
Talk about a walk of shame!!!!
In fear of the posting getting deleted, here it is in all it's glory:
I fled your apartment wearing only a bathrobe - m4m - 23 (Midtown West)
Date: 2009-09-05, 1:26PM EDT
We met at Vlada Bar last night, after which you took me back to your apartment in what I think is Washington Heights. Anyway, for some reason I decided to run out of your apartment wearing only a bath robe that I found. I then walked across the GW bridge, and was stopped by a police officer on the NJ side. He drove me back to Manhattan in his cruiser, and I proceeded to sleep in a park on the ground for a while. Finally I found a cab willing to take me to a friend's place. That same friend took me back to your place this morning, but I could not remember which apartment was yours. My wallet, phone, and all of my clothes are still inside your place, so please check my phone for a bunch of missed calls and then call that number. I very much need my things back, especially my drivers license as I will not be able to board my flight home to California without it and will be stranded in New York forever. I had a great time though! Please call me. Thanks!
