Keeping the funny in the family.

I wish I were part of this family. Not that I want to get rid of mine, but can you imagine how much they laugh when they're together?!

PS

Woo-hoo! It took a MONTH but Undiscovered Celebrity has just passed the 100th view mark. Ha... small steps, small steps.

History in the making!

This year is all about women making history!

Perez wrote a little number on the AMAZING records the Mariah and Madonna both hold, and the equally amazing records they are both about to BREAK (that were both held by the same MAN!).

I'm just going to copy what Perez wrote... I couldn't do it any better.

Here's a chance for both Madonna and Mariah fans to celebrate!

When the latest Billboard Hot 100 singles chart is released on Wednesday, both pop divas will have reached new milestones.

M & M are set to break two records set by Elvis Presley, making music history together on the same week!

Thanks to its release as a digital single, Mimi's Touch My Body is expected to be the #1 single in America this coming week. It will be her 18th #1, and she will surpass Elvis as the artist with the most #1 hits.

Meanwhile, Madge's 4 Minutes will jump into the Top 10 this week and she will beat Elvis as the artist with the most Top 10 hits in music history. It will be her 37th !!!

That is INSANE!!!!

So many artists wish they could have a Top 10 single, and Madonna is on her way to #37!!!!!!!!

ARTISTS WITH THE MOST TOP 10 SINGLES (Before 4 Minutes)
1. Elvis Presley (36)
1. Madonna (36)
3. The Beatles (34)
4. Stevie Wonder (28)
4. Michael Jackson (28)

Congrats to both Madonna and Mariah!!

How amazing is all that?!

I hope another woman makes BIG history this year...

I want to dress like...

Photobucket

1) How awesome is Brads suit?
2) Is he looking a lot older lately or what?!
3) Let us pray that Angelina isn't going through another goth phase.
4) I want to be like Brad when I grow up.

News about the couple is flying all over the place today. Apparently Star Magazine announced that the couple had wed in New Orleans on Saturday night. This came as a shock to online bloggers who remember well the statement that was released to the press from them saying they wouldn't get married until marriage rights were equal for everyone - meaning the gays.  Perez seemed to have his panties all in a twist, even though he congratulated the couple.

As soon as people started freaking about the news, People Magazine AND US Weekly both reported that Star was a big fat liar.  Brangelina's spokespeople had no idea what the couple had been up to on the 29th, but they seemed pretty certain that it wasn't a marriage.

Brangie loves their privacy, so I'm sure they're going to go sue happy and sue the crap filled pants off of Star Magazine

Speaking of money!

Have you all heard what the offer is to Brangie for the first pictures of the twins and interview after the twins are born is?!

TEN MILLION PLUS DOLLARS!!!!

The couple never keeps the money, it always goes to charity.  The eight-million they got for their last child was just split up between five or so charities of their choosing.

The funny part about all this... the couple has still yet to confirm that she's actually pregnant.  Wouldn't it be a kicker if this was one of Astons POP FICTION pranks?!  If she's actually been wearing a fake belly all this time?!  It would be amazing.

Here's something pretty amazing...

Another find on Design-milk.com was this amazing graphics work done by an architect that wants to make a change to the Eiffel Tower.

Apparently - according to his statistics - 6.5 million people visit the tower every year, 95% of those people would like to go observe Paris from the top. I've never been, but I guess the current observation deck is only about halfway up.

His design is quite breathtaking. I think it would actually make the tower look quite amazing. However, I'm sure if someone designed a star or something for the top of the Washington Monument I would probably not like the idea... so I wonder how the Parisians feel about this design.

Here are two of his samples. To view the rest of the images simply click the image to be taken to the website.

Intensify!

There's an amazing blog out here in cyberspace called Design Milk. The lady (I believe it's a lady, I could be wrong) finds cool things, like furniture, wall decorations, dinner ware, bedding, etc., etc. that are all uniquely designed.

Some of the stuff she finds is amazing.

For example:

A hanging light fixture...
Photobucket

A toaster phone...
Photobucket

A lamp that looks like a cracked egg shell...
Photobucket

This is amazing. It's a water filter/purifier and cooler, that doesn't use ANY electricity. Simply brilliant...
Photobucket

I don't know how she finds this stuff... but it's all amazing. And if I were a millionaire I would fill my house with this shiz.

You just have to check it out. She updates a few times a day I believe...

WTF?!

This is insane.

I want an update on this guy!

Where are the shows like this today?!

Batman, Batman, Batman...

Photobucket
(Click the image above to be taken to the Jokers website. Note the black ribbon Warner Bros put up after Heaths untimely death.)

Even before his death Hollywood, pop culture gossipers, and every other media outlet was gushing about the darkly transformed Joker that Heath Ledger had created.

Jack Nicholson, the previous Joker was upset he wasn't cast in the role. I find it hard to believe they would have been able to work with his age and physical condition in the film, but he did play it well.
Hopefully Nicholson will be pleased that Heath seemed to have payed homage to the elder actor through his vocal performance. Heaths sound is so creeptastic and almost dead on to what Nicholson had created for a voice. It's almost magical.

The studios don't have to do much to vamp up interest in the film. Heath's untimely death has that taken care of, press is at an all time high and the film doesn't come out until mid summer!

Heath joins a prestigious list of actors who have come out with films after their death. I believe he's one of two who have had two come out post life... he's in good company with James Dean (Rebel Without a Cause and Giant).

I'm sure even MORE people will check out this film, it's apparently the work that stressed him out enough to accidentally o.d. on prescription drugs. I wonder where this film will rank in box office sales. Batman films are usually top grossing films, with all the hype around this one it could take top in history.

This makes me wonder about his other film though. Because it's not a franchised film, will it do so well? And will anyone be able to pick up on the character changes?

Crazy Relations!!

Photobucket
image: associated press
click the image above to visit the site of Brads awesome New Orleans charity

An amazing study by the New England Historic Genealogical Society (a great nonprofit organization) was just published that proves that Hillary Clinton is related to Angelina Jolie and Barak Obaba is related to Brad Pitt...

It gets better. Apparently Hillary is also related (however distant it may be) to Camilla Parker, Madonna, Alanis Morissette, and Celine Dion. Obama is also distantly connected to SIX OTHER PRESIDENTS and frigging Winston Churchill.

SAVE POLAROID!

Photobucket

The Polaroid Camera Company has announced that they're going to stop making Polaroid instant film!

This stuff is an art form! That's like saying we're going to stop making paint, but still brushes!

An internet savvy couple has opened a website called Save Polaroid to try to sway the decision by Polaroid.

How crazy is this! Our kids won't know the joy of an old fashioned Polaroid!

New Jason Mraz Video!

Some of you die-hard fans may recognize this song, but you may not know that it's never been on an official album!

I love that he tried to keep it really true to his laid back more acoustic side.

more, More, MORE! I can't WAIT for the new album!

Um... Just Saying...

Has ANYONE seen the AMAZING list of performers coming to The Paradise in Boston this Spring?

The list is huge, but here are the ones that I am amazed at...

April 9th: Tristan Prettyman
April 14th: Hot Chip
April 19th: Rustic Overtones
April 21st: Kate Nash
April 29th: It's not listed but the reinvented Robyn is performing
April 30th: The Kills

She's actually a little funny!

I can't tell if she's dead in the eyes because of drugs, or if she' supposed to be staring so intently at him.

How Cool is This?

Photobucket

How cool is this?!

Elton John is putting on his FIRST solo concert (without his band) since the year 2000 at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. The concert is being put on in support of Hillary for President. He thinks she's the right choice. So do we.

Tickets are sold out in the $125 - $500 bracket, but you can still get tickets for $1,000 or $2,300. I think there are still $5,000 tickets available too... if you can afford it.

You can also go for FREE if you raise $10,ooo for her campaign, and you get to go to a private reception with Elton and the Clintons.

Cool shiz.

Happy Easter!

Apple May Start Giving Away Music?!

Photobucket

Apple Computers has announced that they're "looking into" possible set ups with iPod and iPhone prices that would include free music.

Apparently they're looking to maybe raise the price of the devices (aren't they expensive enough!?) to include the unlimited downloads. They may also be looking into the possibility of a "music subscription" for the iPhone.

I think this is a great idea. I'm all for paying a flat rate for all the music you want... but how do the record companies and artists make any money?

In one of the articles I read they said that Apple may pay labels that are involved up to $20 of the sale of a single iPod to cover the music. That's the average price of a single CD. I don't understand how they make any money.

I think the next step for Apple should be this: when you buy an album or a certain number of singles on iTunes, they should send you a burned CD, NetFlix style with that music on it, so you're getting both a hard copy and a digital copy. I think that would get them more sales. I myself prefer to buy the solid album rather than a digital one.

Look into that Apple!

To read more on the free music shiz, check out this Washington Post article.

First Album Review

Photobucket

*****

This album is awesome!

It covers so many genres, it's crazy.

As Fast As, a recently dropped rock/pop group that is heavily influenced by the Beatles, is one of those rare groups that can produce an album that can be listened to from beginning to end. This new album Destroy the Plastique Man is no different.

If only this is what they had released as their international album with A&M and Octone Records. I feel as though this sound is more them.

Their international release Open Letter to the Damned obviously didn't sell well, because the record label dropped them, but their sound was so tweaked for the album that their long time fans didn't even really enjoy the music.

This new album, however should please everyone.

As Fast As which consists of Spencer Albe, Zach Jones, Hache Horchatta, and Andrew Hodgkins took influences from the likes of The Beatles, Jack Johnson, 70s Rock, The Decemberists and Daft Punk.

Favorite songs include:

Me Ow (Nobody Knows) - this song has a light guitar riff which is followed by light vocals and a catchy tune, it's very Jack Johnson.

Dancing a Muderous Tango - a throwback back to their Rocktopus days, is a great single. It could be a radio hit as well. There's an electric sound with Spencer Albees rough belt and some smart lyrics.

For an independent release this album is awesome. I hope it goes far!

You can order it on their MySpace or you can order a hard copy from BullMoose Music.
Enjoy!

PS
I went to the same high school as Spencer and Zach, I've been listening to them and attending concerts etc from the beginning.

It's a good season for books!

Photobucket

Ok!

James Frey is also coming out with a new book!!

Now, whether or not everything in A Million Little Pieces was 100% true or not doesn't bother me. That book was damn good. I haven't read My Friend Leonard yet, but I'm sure it will also score high.

Frey's new book is also on a pre-order sale on Amazon.

Get it while it's cheap!!

yes, Yes, YES!!!

Photobucket

HORAY!!

My
FAVORITE author, Augusten Burroughs is coming out with a new memoir!

He's mentioned this book numerous times in articles and other writings. It's about his not so exemplary father and their relationship.

I'm not sure this book will be as funny as his others have been, but I'm sure it will prove to be an awesome read. I can't WAIT!!

I'm pre-ordering mine right now on Amazon, I suggest you do the same (it's almost $10 cheaper if you pre-order!).

PS

Not a whole lot of people are aware of this, but did you know that Augusten writes articles for DETAILS Magazine?

A Bit Much...

Photobucket

The new issue of Rolling Stone is more of a shrine than a point of view.

I don't know what it is with Barak supporters. Yes he has celebrity, yes he's somewhat handsome, yes he even delivers a great speech (even if they're not HIS!!), but the man has no experience. He himself even joked at a recent lunch with friends "I've written a book, won a Grammy... maybe I should pass a law."

I would definitely vote for him if he had a few more years in some type of political position, but the man is GREEN folks. GREEN.

I say he takes the Vice Presidential seat. That way when Hillary is done with her term Barak will be right there to take over. Wouldn't that be better for the Democratic party anyway? 16 years of democrats? Lets do it. Ha.

At 5:30 am...

At 5:30am on the morn after closing night...

I love this place more than words.

Photobucket

Britneys latest...

Here's Britneys new official video for "Break the Ice".

Because the label didn't want to interrupt her attempt at actually getting better, they released this animated video for the song.

I think it's a better idea than making her work in the state she's in.

I wish the animation was more active.

Blake Lewis.

Photobucket

Blake Lewis has released his new single, "How Many Words"!

Here he is performing it on Idols Top 16 episode this season. It's not the best live performance, but it gives you a glimpse.

If you haven't listened to his album yet, you should.

Preview is on iTunes. It's one of the coolest albums out of the American Idol Alum pool. The songs are fun, there are really good beats, and there's a lot of personality involved.

I like it.

Really?! A Do-Over?!

Photobucket

Hopefully this will help Hillary in some way, perhaps it will give her campaign time to find some dirt on the rock star that is Barak Obama.

From Yahoo! News:

" WASHINGTON - Michigan Democrats agreed Friday to push a do-over primary in early June to give them a say in the close presidential race between Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama."

Sing-Along With Ethel Merman and Betty Boop!

I had to share this.

Here is the legendary Ethel Merman doing a Betty Boop film! This would have been shown in a movie theater and you could have seen it for, like 50cents. Amazing.

The cartoon itself is a classic, but the best part is the sing-along with Merman towards the end... there's even a bouncing ball.

It's fantastic.

Fantastic.

A New Favorite...

I must say, I am SO HAPPY about the outcome of this season (4) of Project Runway!

From the very beginning of the season I knew Christian would make it into the top three at least.

Christians designs never failed to "wow" the viewer. He constantly kept to his own style and delivered at runway time.

Although he did use the same few elements repeatedly (vertical ruffles, color palate, puffy sleeves) he found ways to make it fresh.

I can't wait to see what he has in store. Lets hope he designs a mens line! I'm sure it will be amazing.

For now check out his new website, it's "FIERCE!"

The welcome page includes a slide show of his final runway collection that won him the competition.

Why Can't Things be This Simple Anymore?

There's a lot of brilliance in this YouTube video.

The simplicity in the set, the performance, the music... I feel as though, if someone were to bring this back they would find quick fame in it.

When does my generation get a performer of this quality and grace?

The Birth of a new Era

Welcome!

This new blog-o-mine should prove to be an interesting adventure.

I'm going to try to update this every day.

I want it to be my personal letter to the world.

I've been done with Blurty for sometime, I can't seem to keep a Live Journal going, and I didn't have a "blog" yet... so here goes.

Mission Statement:

This blog is to become my art. It's going to be a platform for discussion on everyday topics, and not just my personal life. I want to know what is on your mind about the topics I post.
I will from time to time (or possibly all the time) post my personal opinion on the topic. If you disagree tell me, and tell me why.
This blog will be fun. This blog will be creative. This blog will be a gossip magazine, this blog will be an inspirational guide, this blog will be an advertisement, this blog will be a political platform, this blog will be mine.

I have every right to change all that shit at will.

Deal.

Welcome.

Enjoy.
