Batman, Batman, Batman...

Even before his death Hollywood, pop culture gossipers, and every other media outlet was gushing about the darkly transformed Joker that Heath Ledger had created.

Jack Nicholson, the previous Joker was upset he wasn't cast in the role. I find it hard to believe they would have been able to work with his age and physical condition in the film, but he did play it well.
Hopefully Nicholson will be pleased that Heath seemed to have payed homage to the elder actor through his vocal performance. Heaths sound is so creeptastic and almost dead on to what Nicholson had created for a voice. It's almost magical.

The studios don't have to do much to vamp up interest in the film. Heath's untimely death has that taken care of, press is at an all time high and the film doesn't come out until mid summer!

Heath joins a prestigious list of actors who have come out with films after their death. I believe he's one of two who have had two come out post life... he's in good company with James Dean (Rebel Without a Cause and Giant).

I'm sure even MORE people will check out this film, it's apparently the work that stressed him out enough to accidentally o.d. on prescription drugs. I wonder where this film will rank in box office sales. Batman films are usually top grossing films, with all the hype around this one it could take top in history.

This makes me wonder about his other film though. Because it's not a franchised film, will it do so well? And will anyone be able to pick up on the character changes?
