Yes, Katy Perry!

I'm on a music video kick... sorry.

I've just now jumped on the Katy Perry bandwagon. I think it was the Glee version of "Firework" that got me.

I think it's safe to say that Katy's video for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" is one of the BEST videos to come out in the pop music world so far this year (Britney - take a cue.)

It's funny, it GOES WITH THE SONG, it's got some fantastic cameos in it... and Katy isn't afraid to be a compete idiot/dress crazy/have fun with it.

Enjoy.

Ke-dollar sign-ha...

So, I'm still not a huge Ke$ha fan. I just can't get into her glitter gun, I haven't showered, I'm original (yet copy a little bit of everyone) style and most of her music gives me awkward shivers.

However...

I can't stop listening to this song lately, and it's killing me.

Perhaps it's because there's a massive amount of James Van Der Beek in the video. Which could make anything better (HINT: Britney - if he had been in your "I Want to Go" video it would have been a LOT better.)

Here's Ke$ha's slightly awesome (a 6 out of 10) video for her song "Blow."

I think this might be my next...

I think this might be my next DVD purchase! How did I not know that this existed?!

My favorite musical Anything Goes was immortalized on film by Frank Sinatra and Ethel Merman and I had no idea. Terrible.

This video is amazing. I think I was born in the wrong decade.

The show has been through MANY incarnations as it was one of the first American Musicals as we know them today. Sutton Foster and Joel Grey currently star in the most recent Broadway revival which opened a few weeks ago.

I'll be seeing that VERY soon I hope.

Enjoy the preview starring Frank and Ethel below. (PS - a match made in musical heaven, but an odd pairing based on looks... no?)

NEW BEYONCE

WORK WORK WORK!

Everyone's releasing great videos lately (except Xtina)!

Beyonce is FULL OUT in this new video.

Screw dance trios, this is where it's at. Haha.

All kidding aside, this song is pretty sick and the video is super cute.

She looks hot as a 50's pinup girl/housewife/tramp.

Work!

"Why Don't You Love Me" - Beyoncé from Beyoncé on Vimeo.

Oh, she's just being Miley...

Miley Cyrus is channeling some Britney "Stronger" and "Slave For You" and possibly some Michael Jackson "Thriller" and some Lady Gaga "Just Dance".

I'm loving this new video! The director did a good job of getting good angles and making her look like a the woman she is NOT. Remember, she's still a teenager! She's working it though!

I'm not a HUGE fan of the song, she's got better. The video is awesome though.

NH State of Mind

This is pretty funny. Some local 603-ers rewrote New York State of Mind (which is TOTALLY overplayed here in NY... I'd MUCH rather hear this one) and put it to a pretty funny video featuring video clips and photos of some familiar places in the Granite State.

Enjoy!

This is so nifty!

Photobucket

Ok, so some genius had a lot of time on their hands and they put this amazing little web page together!

They figured out what the frequency of each planet would sound like based on its distance from the sun and the speed and distance each planet travels.

It's pretty cool. If I had a baby, I'd let it fall asleep to this.

GaGa and Cyndi tell it like it is.

This is a pretty awesome interview with GaGa and Cyndi Lauper on Good Morning America.

They're there to talk about the Viva Glam campaign with Mac Makeup that they're working with. Cyndi's been at it forever, but GaGa is just getting started with them.

It's a pretty good interview.

And I have to say... it is SO NICE to see artists really working for a cause. GaGa's only been around for two years or so and she's already working it out like someone who's been in the business for years. She knows she's got attention and instead of hawking some stupid shit she's talking about women and AIDS.

I love her.

And because she didn't hawk, I'll do it for her.

GaGa is selling t-shirts on her website for Haiti relief. Check those out here.

She's also selling some sick headphones with Beats called Heart Beats... they'd be a pretty special gift for a loved one on Valentines Day. Here they are. They come in a few different colors and actually consist of state of the art sound technology. They're comparable to Bose.

She's also got tickets to another leg of her US tour going on sale soon.

And don't forget to pick up the deluxe edition of The Fame called The Fame Monster. It has all 8 of her new songs on it plus the original The Fame album.

She was also cool enough to release The Fame Monster as its own CD just in case you already owned The Fame (other artists DON'T do this, they want you to have to re-buy everything, GaGa gets that all her fans have to work for their money) at $7.99. It's 8 tracks long and contains a little art photo booklet.

And I can't even begin to speak of all the amazing things Lauper is up to. Check out her official website CyndiLauper.com to see all the great stuff she's up to with Mac, True Colors, and more.

Ugh... sing to me forever.

I'm pretty sure I've written about this girl before...

BUT IT WASN'T ENOUGH!

This young lady can SING! And is CUTE as a button! Someone should cast this girl in Wicked if she's not up to anything.

Her voice is so crisp and refreshing... and amazing.

Listen up... she's probably going to be on your iPod someday.

GaGa is Brilliant.

I love how she talks about Downtown Manhattan. I didn't think I could fall any more in love with it until I hear her talk about it how I've always seen it.

That might sound strange but it makes perfect sense to me.

Ugh...

This is so amazing.

Lady Gaga took time out of her personal life to head down to DC during the Equality March to lend her support and perform for the thousands in attendance...

Instead of performing one of her own pieces (and attempting to sell albums at the worst time possible, like others might) she performed John Lennon's Imagine, and of course threw in her own verse or two and made it relevant to the event.

Needless to say it's pretty breathtaking.

I think John would approve (Yoko might sue, however...).

Enjoy.

Equality for all.

WORK WORK WORK!

This is so great. Gaga took time to recreate her hit song Poker Face for SNL this past weekend. She also personalized it for SNL and for NY and for her fans IN NY. So amazing. She actually sings!

Eat that Ashlee Simpson.

How cool is that sphere thing she's wearing at the top?!

Amazing.

She's also broken a few records on the Billboard charts this past month, as well as outselling most other artists this year with a debut album. She's also completed a world tour and still is on the tip of everyone's tongues! I really REALLY hope she's around for a long while.

I also hope that she doesn't have a Britney/Whitney like meltdown.

STAY AWESOME GAGA!!!

Enjoy.

PS: I love her new Hollywood glam look.

So... MTV VMA's

I was supposed to go to the MTV VMA's tonight, but due to shitty planning and a lack of communication between MTV and the event planners I was, with ticket mind you, turned away after waiting in a line for four hours.

SHIT-TAY!!

So, my friend and I snuck around and finally made our way into a restricted area where we were face to face and spoke with Taylor Swift and stood right by Jay-Z for his arrival.

It kind of made up for the fact that we didn't get to go inside.

Some of the people outside however WERE inside at one point and gave us the low down on Kan-yasshole's stage explosion.

I guess she was accepting her award for best POP video and he jumped up MID-SPEECH and stole the mic proclaiming Beyonce's video was the best of the year. He then handed the mic back to the 19 year old Taylor and left. Taylor being in shock gave a dancer the mic and walked off the stage RIGHT after MTV went to commercial.

Taylor then maybe three minutes later had to perform.

I had the pleasure of running into her after she jammed out on 6th Avenue (when she was done the audience - which ran 300 people thick all up and down every corner of the intersection - a few thousand people started chanting her name) and saw that her eyes were all red and she was a bit teary eyed. I had no idea then that Kanye was the reason.

But leave it to a true professional to save the day.

Later in the evening Beyonce won for best video and told the audience how excited she was to win when she was in Destiny's Child as a teen, and then she called out Taylor and let her finish her acceptance speech.

Beyonce - you are an amazing woman.

Taylor - I'm buying your album this week only to up your numbers and show Kanye how little he truly is.

Kanye - you were one of my favorite artists. I now have a strong unfavorable taste in my mouth for you. Lame lame lame.

Here's a video of Kanye being an a-hole, followed by one of Beyonce being awesome, followed by a funny Obama mash-up.

PS: How cool is this?!

This video duet airs at all of Britneys concerts during her short break.

Check it out, it's pretty rad: (she's singing in it, but you can mostly only hear the male voice)
