A good week for music!

Photobucket

Here are a few of the good things that are happening this week in music:

1) On Thursday Madonna is premiering her new video for the single "4 Minutes to Save the World". The video will most likely have Justin Timberlake and Timbaland in it as they worked the song. The song is her first official single from her upcoming release entitled Hard Candy.

2) Robyn officially releases her third new single in the US! "Handle Me" is now for sale on iTunes. I have no clue when her full CD is coming out though.

3) Kylie Minogue is doing a US press tour to promote her new album X which will be available soon. And it's AWESOME.

4) Estelle's single "American Boy" featuring Kanye West is available for download on iTunes (it has been for a couple of weeks, but is just getting some interest). The single is great, it's got a really fresh sound to it.

5) As mentioned yesterday here, TWO music industry records currently held by Elvis Presley will be broken. One by Madonna and one by Mariah Carey.

6) The company behind Dr. Pepper announced that anyone that wants one will get a free Dr. Pepper the day Guns N' Roses releases their new album Chinese Democracy - IF the album is released in 2008.
I believe this might be the official statement:
"In an unprecedented show of solidarity with Axl, everyone in America, except estranged GNR guitarists Slash and Buckethead, will receive a free can of Dr Pepper if the album ships some time — anytime! — in 2008. Dr Pepper supports Axl, and fully understands that sometimes you have to make it through the jungle before you get it right." www.complex.com
